Spherical roller bearings
Spherical roller bearings (SRB's) find wide use in industry and are typically used in conjunction with cast iron or steel housings.
SRB's have 2 inclined rows of rollers running on a spherical raceway in the outer ring. This geometry offers very high axial and radial load carry capability in a self-aligning format allowing misalignments in the order of 1 to 2.5 degrees.
Features of SRB's include:-
- Steel, brass or polyamide cage designs (depending on manufacturer);
- parallel or tapered bore;
- open and sealed designs (not as common).
- operating temperature limit of 100-120 oC,
- heat stabilised bearings for higher temperature applications (available to special order).
NBC offers end users a huge range of spherical roller bearings, tapered sleeves, housings and seals for most applications from stock.
And ask about our range of bearings specifically for vibratory applications , a subset of SRB's with specific design features that enable them to resist the harsh operating environment found in vibrating machinery.
Some very large vibrating machine OEM's trust NBC... why don't you?
Spherical roller thrust bearings
SRTB's have a single row of rollers to transfer load from one raceway to the other. They offer very high axial load carrying capacity at high speed while retaining radial load and self-aligning capabilities.
Available in pressed steel and machined brass cage designs.
